  Correlation between vascular endothelial cell injury, platelet activation and functional status in type 2 diabetes

  【Abstract】 AIM: To investigate the vascular endothelial cell injury and the platelet activation and functional status change  in type 2 diabetes patients. METHODS: The plasma levels of von willebrand factor∶antigen (vWF∶Ag) and granule membrane protein140(GMP140)were measured by double sandwich ELISA. The adhesiveness of platelet was determined by Salzmans method. RESULTS: The plasma levels of vWF∶Ag(145.6±25.6)%,GMP140(16.8±3.5)μg/L and PAdT (80.3±5.3)% of type 2 diabetes were significantly higher than those of normal controls(P<0.05); The plasma levels of these markers in the group of type 2 diabetes with vascular complication were higher than those in the one without vascular complication(P<0.05); plasma levels of GMP140 and PAdT were positively correlated with those of vWF∶Ag[(160.8±35.6)%,(18.9±5.5)μg/L,(89.5±7.8)%, r=0.446, 0.413, P<0.05]. CONCLUSION: Type 2 diabetes can cause vascular endothelial cell injury, platelet activation and functional status change. The plasma levels of vWF∶Ag, GMP140 and PAdT may reflect vascular pathological changes in type 2 diabetes patients to a certain extent.
